North Texas Winter Weather Reponse
The Situation
Weather man says we're in deep. Life-threatening cold, ice and snow accumulations that our infrastructure can't remotely handle, and a political system that is hands off to say the least. In short, it's on us.
The Response
Mutual aid hubs, vulnerability patrols, coordinated dispatch, and block-level mobilization. We're going to get through this together. We've got this.
Where You Come In
Donate Money
Our volunteers pay out of pocket and are reimbursed for their purchases. As a volunteer-run group, every dollar goes directly to supporting people who need it. Your assistance is greatly appreciated.

Donate Warm Things
Do you have a little surplus of things you think would benefit a chilly neighbor? Think hot hands, tea candles, wool socks, sterno, canned soup, lighters, generators, camping stoves, you name it. If so, call us on the warmline at (940) 268-0948.

Coordinate With Your Neighbors
Add your neighborhood to the Ushahidi map. Also make note of the neighbors nearby who have already added their capacity, as well as city warming centers and neighborhood aid sites. This is the force multiplier. Without massive, decentralized collective action on the ground, we're powerless to make a dent when there's an inch of ice on the ground. What matters now is what's within 3 miles and what's within 3 blocks.
